Our client is a subsidiary of one of the largest global manufacturers of medical devices, diagnostics and consumer healthcare products. It is currently in phase two of its start up in Ireland with immediate plans to significantly expand its product, employee and customer base. The company offers customers the widest array of design and manufacturing capabilities in the industry with over forty years’ experience worldwide. In order to meet the prospected growth the company has retained us to recruit a HEAD OF PROGRAMMES who will report to the General Manager and is a member of the senior leadership team.

Responsibilities of position include:

  • Acts as main communication interface between company, customers and vendors for new programs.
  • Coordinates the preparation of proposals, business plans, work statements and specifications, operating budgets and financial terms/conditions of project.
  • Assists with program review sessions with customer to discuss cost, schedule and technical performance.
  • Establishes work plan and staffing for each phase pf project, and arranges for assignment of project personnel in conjunction with senior staff members.
  • Participate in the negotiation of contract and contract changes.
  • Determines customer requirements and negotiate price with vendors for tools, equipment and services.
  • Manages and coordinates program continuous quality improvement and cost reduction efforts and teams by developing and leading the QBR process.
  • Develops new business or expands the product line with the customer.
  • Maintain and develop the existing employee relationship/open communication and employee engagement programme.
  • Supports all company safety and lean initiatives and programs.

We require candidates with a Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or plastics engineering or related discipline, relevant Master’s Degree is desirable.  He/She will have significant Project Engineering and/or Program Management experience required, in a customer facing role aswell as experience of working in injection moulding processing/automation highly desirable.

The successful candidate will have exceptional organisational, leadership and communication skills, will be customer focussed, motivated, enthusiastic, self-directed & a results driven leader.  Candidates should have the ability to work in a team environment.  Strong leadership of technical issue resolution required.
